Inspired by the compassion of Josephine Nwakaego Odo, it offers scholarships, vocational training, and support for widows, orphans, and youth, empowering individuals and strengthening communities, while providing hope and opportunity across Enugu State and beyond.

About Us

The Josephine Nwakaego Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities through education, sports, and empowerment initiatives. 

One of its key programs is a scholarship scheme that provides full educational support to financially disadvantaged students, helping them pursue their academic dreams from junior to senior secondary school.

The Foundation also organizes the K.T.C. Football Tournament, which promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and mental well-being among youths in the Nsukka region of Enugu State. This tournament serves as a platform for young footballers to showcase their talent, with many being scouted by local clubs.

Committed to fostering personal growth, discipline, and unity, the Foundation continually expands its reach and impact, carrying forward the legacy of its founder, Josephine Nwakaego Odo, by empowering the next generation for success.

Areas of Focus

Scholarship Scheme

We provide scholarships to five indigent students annually, ensuring access to quality secondary education. Selection is based on academic merit and a thorough review process ensures a fair distribution.

Widows Welfare Scheme

The Foundation supports poor widows in rural areas through a welfare scheme, providing financial help for trading, along with regular supplies of clothes, food, and assistance for housing and other needs.

Fellowship With Orphans

We regularly visit Enugu orphanages, providing food, clothing, money, toiletries, and supplies. This helps to give orphans a sense of belonging, especially during festivals, reinforcing their feeling of being loved.

Skills Acquisition Scheme

We provide skill acquisition opportunities, such as sewing and fashion design, to girls who didn't qualify for scholarships. These girls are trained and supported in opening shops and later mentor new participants.

Football Tournament

We organize the annual K.T.C Cup football tournament, promoting sportsmanship and mental well-being among youths. It also serves as a talent hunt, leading to the discovery of players for local football clubs.
