My name is Okey Cletus N. I was born into the family of Mr. / Mrs. Emmanuel Okey. I am from St. Mary’s Parish Ibagwa – Aka Ibagwa Denary. We have nine children: three girls and six boys. My father is a dog seller, and my mother is a mat seller.
I was born in the year 1988. I attended St. Mary’s Nursery / Primary School Ibagwa – Aka.
After my primary education, my parents were unable to train me, and they had already made arrangements with a businessman in Onitsha to train me in his business.
I wasn’t happy with the arrangement because I loved education. Then, I kept on praying for God to rescue me. One day, I saw in the bulletin about the “SODEJUPE” scholarship. I purchased the form, and then I attended the interview. God really answered my prayer, and I was among those who merited the scholarship. That was how I managed to attend secondary school. Right now, I am in SSII at St. Theresa’s College Nsukka.
By the special grace of God I will be writing my SSCE exams I will not be able to further my education to University level due to my parents poor background except if any benefactors will come to my rescue and I pray that they should do so.
I am very, very grateful for what they have done to me, and I pray that the Almighty God will grant them abundant blessings in Jesus’ name. Amen.
